It’s officially Spooky Season, which means it’s the perfect time to grab a drink, snag some snacks, and cozy up with an entertaining Halloween movie. Here are some of our favorites here at Topography.
Allison’s Picks
Movie: Hocus Pocus (1993)
Snack: “I’m not a big snacker.”

Let’s kick things off with Allison, our Director of Marketing. When asked for her favorite Halloween movie, she settled on the cult classic Hocus Pocus, starring Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy.
“There’s a black cat in it, so of course I love it,” Allison admits. “Anything with a black cat in it has my heart. Sabrina the Teenage Witch? Another classic.”
If you’re looking for laughs instead of scares this Halloween season, Hocus Pocus is the perfect pick. With a whimsical cast, bombastic musical numbers and a heaping of 90s cheese, this breezy flick will get your movie night off to a lighthearted start. Catie’s Picks
Movie: Fall (2022)
Snack: “Cookie dough bites and buttery popcorn. Extra butter, please.”

Catie, our Director of Sales and lover of all things outdoors, chose the recent thriller Fall as her go-to Halloween movie. This nerve-wracking adventure follows two thrill-seeking friends who successfully climb a radio tower, only to be stranded when the ladder breaks and falls off behind them. If you haven’t seen it, skip ahead to our next pick to avoid spoilers.
“The twist in this movie is so good,” Catie recounts. “The main character thinks her friend’s been with her the whole time, but she actually fell off and died halfway through. The main character’s just been tripping because she’s dehydrated.”
And the best way to stay hydrated during this movie?
“Gotta go with the 30 mg Yerba Mate. I’m a night owl, so I need the caffeine.”
Christo’s Picks
Movie: Jurassic Park (1993)
Snack: “I’m a salt-and-vinegar-potato-chip kinda guy.”
Drink: Topography [REDACTED] Elixir
We’re heading back to the 90s for our Chief Operating Officer’s choice. Or rather, we’re going back 65 million years. Christo picked the Steven Spielberg classic Jurassic Park, and who can argue with him? With a stacked cast, amazing score, and special effects that still hold up today, Christo’s spoiled for choice when finding a reason to love this movie—
“It’s the first person to die, you know?” Christo explains.
Um…what?
“He’s in the shitter. He gets eaten. It’s a great scene.”
…
“Newman dying is pretty great, too.”
Yeah…
“Now tell ‘em about the elixir.”
