Topography’s Favorite Halloween Movies, Part 2

Topography’s Favorite Halloween Movies, Part 2

It’s that time again. Let’s circle back with the rest of the Topography staff to find out what movies they’re watching this Halloween.

Sveta’s Picks

Movie: Trick ‘r Treat (2007)

Snack: “Popcorn, but I don’t want it swimming in butter.”

Drink: 30 mg Yerba Mate Lemon-Mint Trailblazer

Sveta contributes to our social media accounts and monthly newsletter. She also hosts Topography tastings at local Chattanooga businesses, which you can find here. Her pick is the modern horror-comedy classic Trick ‘r Treat, an anthology of Halloween stories that perfectly toes the line between laughs and chills.

“It’s just a really fun movie,” Sveta tells us. “I also like that it respects the lore and background of Halloween when it comes to the Celtic Samhain festival. It gets a lot of details correct, where most movies don’t.”

If that stamp of approval from our resident Halloween expert isn’t enough, trust us when we say that the Looney Tunes-esque battle between Brian Cox (of Succession fame) and the diminutive slasher Sam is worth the price of admission alone.

Josh’s Picks

Movie: The Descent (2005)

Snack: “Nachos, but they have to be good nachos. If the cheese tastes like butter, I don’t want it. And jalapeños are a must.”

Drink: Strawberry Cream Soda

Josh, our Director of Outreach and blog steward, considers himself a bit of a movie buff and—wait, I’m the one writing this. Why am I writing in third person?

My Halloween movie pick is The Descent, because it’s hands-down the scariest film I’ve ever seen. It follows a group of adrenaline junkies who explore an uncharted cave that is (of course) swarming with monsters. It sounds deceptively simple, but this flick is a perfect mix of nasty nightmares. It’s a disaster movie. It’s a monster movie. It’s psychologically devastating. You’ll come for the jump scares, but the creepiest parts of it will crawl under your skin and live there for a long, long time.

Get a group of friends together, put this on, and enjoy watching them freak the hell out for an hour and a half.

Rob’s Picks

Movie: “I don’t do horror movies.”

Snack: “Zyns.”

Drink: Topography Black Diamond Citrus High Elixir

Rob, Topography’s Chief Executive Officer, doesn’t do horror movies, which made writing this entry difficult.

“Why are we posting about movies? We don’t sell movies,” Rob tells me sternly.

I shrug. Because it’s fun?

“No it’s not.”

…

“You know what’s fun? Our new elixir. Write about that.”

He pops a Zyn and leaves the office.

Well.

If you haven’t heard, our new drink is coming to store shelves soon. We're proud to announce the Black Diamond Citrus High Elixir, a potent drink that perfectly complements our Trailblazer line of beverages. The light, tangy elixir can be used to boost the THC content of our Trailblazers or any of your favorite drinks. It’s also deliciously refreshing served on its own, over ice or as a chilled shot.

Every bottle of Black Diamond Citrus High Elixir contains 300 mg of THC, with each 1.25 oz serving bringing a whopping 15 mg of THC to your palette. If you’re looking for new adventures or a way to elevate your Halloween movie-watching this fall, this drink will get you there.
